Levon Peden was a precious blessing bestowed upon John Wilie and Lula (Pollock) Peden August 7, 1940. As the Youngest child of sixteen children in Preston, Ms. He accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age and was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. He was educated in DeKalb, Ms, attending Little Rock Grammar School and graduating in 1959 from Whisenton High School.
As a young man, Levon left home in 1959 and headed north to join his brothers and sisters in Chicago, IL. He flourished in Chicago, but he was at heart Mississippian, even in his last days. He marrided Bertha J. Slater in 1963 and together they bore one daughter, Stephanie Yvonne. Onve he built a solid foundation for his family he spread his wings, reaching out to others to guide and assist them in all ways.
Levon was employed for 46 years at HPC, Inc., wherehe codesigned a key machine and received a patent for his invention. Being a key influencer in the company, he was able to secure positions for many family members and friends. He was an entrepreneur, owning several businesses, including Peden's Rib House.
Levon was a mason and achieved the highest honor of the 33rd Degree.He was a member of Fidelity Lodge #103 F.&A.M., Rebecca D. Boone Chapter #128 O.E.S., Western Consistory #28, and Arabic Temple #44 A.E.A.O.N.M.S.
On Monday , June 8, 2009 while in the care of Christ Advocate Hospital, Levon walked away from this life into the Kingdom of God.
